You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. Maybe you know exactly what you want to change, or maybe something just doesn’t feel right and you’re not sure where to begin. I believe understanding where we are today means taking time to understand the experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped us. Your story matters, and I want to understand it with you rather than make assumptions about what you need. I see counselling as a journey we take together. You’re in the driver’s seat, while I’m alongside you to help navigate the turns and find a path that feels right for you.
My experience includes supporting people across the lifespan in school, hospital, community, and peer-support settings. I have supported individuals navigating relationship and family concerns, anxiety, challenges with self-esteem, difficult thoughts or emotions, and periods of change or personal growth. I have also supported people through difficult or traumatic life experiences and periods of change. My experience includes supporting individuals impacted by domestic abuse, as well as children, youth, and their families. This includes those navigating neurodivergence and behavioural or emotional challenges. Through these experiences, I have learned that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to support, and that meaningful counselling begins with meeting each person where they are.
I primarily draw from solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and narrative approaches. I adapt our work to what feels most helpful for you. Depending on what you are hoping to work through, our conversations may involve exploring your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or past experiences. We may identify your strengths and find practical ways to move toward what matters most to you. I believe the answers and strengths we need are often already within us, even when they are difficult to see. Most importantly, I believe we’re all finding our way through life together. I want our work to feel genuine and grounded in that shared human experience. And through it all, there is always room for a little laughter, even during hard times.
