Have you experienced a stressful event or situation that has continually impacted your life?  Do intrusive thoughts, feelings, and body sensations interfere with your quality of life?  Do you feel that you are alone in your experiences or misunderstood by others? 

TraumaRise is heart-centred, psychoeducational women's support group that offers a healing space to work through emotional pain, build inner resources, and foster a deeper connection with yourself and others. 

This group is tailored for women who are aspiring to RISE above the trauma they've experienced and build meaningful connections with themselves and others.

Each group session will focus on a topic that addresses the impacts of trauma and will offer tips and tools for healing. Group discussions will aid in bridging the gap of healing in isolation to thriving in a community of solidarity.

Group Dates:

Our group meets Wednesdays for 4 weeks at our Capilano location from 10:00am-12:30pm, commencing May 8th, 2024.

Registration and Fees:

The total investment is $195 per person. Registration and payment must be completed by May 6th, 2024. Payment can be made in the form of a credit card or e-transfer to billing@healmyheart.ca. You will receive a receipt that you can send it for reimbursement if you have insurance coverage. Your fee covers your attendance, a work booklet, beverages, and snacks.

To register for this group, you must complete our application form here to ensure you are eligible for the group. Your facilitator will follow-up with you upon reviewing your application.

Group Facilitator:

Beth (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in social work.  She is ardently committed about helping her clients tap into their innate self-healing abilities and offering guidance toward a deeper intrapersonal connection.  Beth offers holistic and trauma-informed care that is infused with a feminist and heart-centered approach to healing.

While Beth works as an individual therapist with adults, her love for community work has been a passion since she began her journey in social work seventeen years ago. She has developed and facilitated groups for folks experiencing substance dependence and trauma recovery, spirituality, and women’s healing groups. She has been so deeply moved to witness the capacity of the human spirit to overcome adversity and rise above. 

In her personal life, Beth enjoys running, yoga, being amongst the trees and water as well as spending time with her children, partner and many fur babies.

Women lifting women builds greatness.

Each woman holds within herself great power, depth and wisdom. Embodied aims to help women strengthen trust in themselves, increase self-worth and stand in their power.   

You may have had your self-worth, sense of trust, and identity impacted by one or more of the following circumstances,

  • Unhealthy relationships

  • Past abuse

  • Toxic messages within the media

  • Loss of identify due to parenting

  • Changes in health

  • Systemic oppression

When trust in ourselves is lost, we may,

  • Feel afraid to make decisions

  • Not feel genuinely connected to others

  • Struggle to say “no” or set healthy boundaries

  • Isolate ourselves to create a sense of safety

  • Be afraid to speak up for fear of not being heard/believed

The power of women coming together can move mountains.

There is an unstoppable power that comes from women gathering to share their stories, wisdom, and intuitive guidance.  Embodied seeks to build meaningful, compassionate, and transformative connections among women who are aspiring to overcome limiting self-beliefs so they may align with their authentic self.  Opportunities for creativity and physical movement will be intertwined with topics, discussions and story sharing.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to,

  • Nurture a loving and deeply connected relationship with yourself

  • Connect with in-bodied emotions

  • Identify your deep emotional needs

  • Expand upon your inner wisdom and resources

  • Deconstruct your conditioned responses 

  • Understand how grief impacts women

Your workshop facilitator is Beth Gallant, Registered Social Worker.

Your investment for participating is:

$375 with registration by October 23rd (includes workshop materials, a personal journal, snacks/refreshments, and a certificate of completion). Please note there is no sliding scale for this group. Refunds are available up to 7 days prior to the workshop.

You will also receive an invoice after the workshop that can be submitted for reimbursement under paramedical services if you have benefits coverage. Please note that not all insurances cover the cost for social work.

This workshop will take place Saturday, November 4th from 11:00am – 5:00pm at the Capilano location of The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre.

Supporting a child through trauma can be confusing and difficult. Adults play an important role in supporting a child after trauma and it is key that adults understand trauma and its impact on the developing brain. Our team at The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre is honoured to organize this free, educational talk about trauma and children over a 90-minute virtual session on Thursday, September 30th at 7:00pm MT.
