  • Jourdan (she/they) holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is currently pursuing registration as a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She previously completed her BFA in Critical and Cultural Practices, with an additional year of supplemental psychology courses at Athabasca University, lending towards a foundation in feminist, post-humanist, and decolonial-striving care that is nuanced, creative, and culturally/scientifically-informed.

Utilizing an integrative lens, Jourdan’s practice draws from training in somatic therapy, parts-based therapies (Internal Family Systems and Jungian informed), mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, attachment theory, and depth, transpersonal, and liberation psychology to provide care that emphasizes holistic mental health backed by clinical research.

  • Jourdan is a member in good standing with the Canadian Psychological Association and the Canadian Mental Health Association (Edmonton Region).

  • Grief has been a close companion throughout much of my life – losses through human and animal deaths, relational partings, significant identity and worldview shifts, and heartache prompted by legacies of colonialism and climate change lived heavily within me for many years. These sticky feelings and perspectives diminished my sense of vitality, belonging, and openness, which were compounded by traumatic experiences that made me want to protect myself from the world at all costs. It wasn’t until I started my own therapeutic journey that I began to metabolize my grief and trauma safely and be able to live my life with a sense of expansion, peacefulness, play, and open-heartedness. This has led me to my passion and purpose - holding space for others in their shifting of grief and trauma.

My approach is to build a container of safety, compassion, and empowerment where we work together to holistically process challenging experiences, honour your internal wisdom, develop personalized skill sets, re-write narratives that no longer serve you, and increase resiliency and joy so that you can live your most meaningful life. I enjoy incorporating humour and prioritize creating a strong therapeutic relationship, collaborating in creating personalized plans that promote your desired change, growth, felt experience, and transformation.

While I'm open to working with a range of challenges, my personal and professional experiences have influenced specialized interests in grief and loss, trauma, psychedelic and consciousness expansion integration, life transitions, anxiety, LGBTQ+ concerns, postpartum, perfectionism, gender and sexuality, and existential/spiritual/religious concerns.

When not holding space, I’m tapping into rest and my joys to keep my cup full – learning Brazilian jiu jitsu and ceramics, playing through dance and singing, laughing with friends, cuddling my pup, and hanging out with family.
